Ryan’s Place Park

Ryan’s Place Park was constructed by the sweat & toil of Cache Valley residents and beyond, but inspired by the love & nature of a small child. Ryan Steven Adams was only 2 years old when he fell to a drowning accident on Aug. 9th 2006.

Ryan loved to swing, play in the sandbox, and he loved to share with others. Ryan’s parents Craig and Alicia Adams of River Heights decided sharing with others is what Ryan would have wanted, so they spearheaded a playground that grew from the idea of a small swing set into this - where all far and wide can enjoy, make memories, play hard, but remember that shoes are not required here.

This park was constructed by the children, residents, businesses, & friends of our beautiful valley. Their time, money, commitment and love made this park possible.

Bosses were tossed off of a bungee tower, cruising money was collected, aluminum cans were saved, children sold lemonade from their stands and many individuals and businesses donated to make this park.

15 Committees involving more than 100 people coordinated the construction. Each member was selected and inspired specifically for their assignment. They worked behind the scenes for 5 months and the park was constructed in only 5 days.

From May 15th – 19th 2007 over 2000 people volunteered 4-hour shifts to construct the playground. Neither nail in finger nor screw in foot could stop the park from being built.

Children designed the park; including the rocket ship as the favorite idea. This became the center of the playground, which includes special ignition misters for all to cool off in the hot sun. The artwork was even drawn by children giving it the personal splash of color.

A celebration area was created to remember the lives of so many children and loved ones that will never play here. Families can find joy together as they visit this park.

As you play here, please respect the many hours and dollars that were given so unselfishly to make it possible. Take care of it.

Ryan’s Place is Your Place too.
